Wreck Dives-C-58 Anaya
C-58 Anaya
The Navy Vessel C-58 Anaya was purposely sunk by the same gentlemen, Ernesto Zedillo, who would have the duty of sinking 6 other vessels as well, 4 of which were in Cozumel, Puerto Morelos and Cancun. The well known C-58 Anaya was sunk in Cancun on May of 2000, but broke into two pieces when taking on the brutal Hurricane Wilma. Half of the vessel is now approximately 5 minutes away from the other half, but makes for a great dive in 80’ of water. The stern can be found laying on its side and the bow with some damage but still together. A large variety of fish can be seen inside or around the vessel including; Rays, Eels, Barracudas, Nurse Sharks, Groupers, Sardines, Jacks and many others depending when the vessel is visited. The wreck makes for a great dive for certified divers.
